BSNL Broadband: Customer??? who is that idiot!!?

BSNL cables arrived inside our apartment. But that’s not the end of the story. There are 28 flats in the apartment and all built-in tele cables ends in the ground floor – but they were not labeled. BSNL (or the contractor in this case) saying we had to first label them so that they can connect to the respective house. In this confusion – they left and no action further. It’s been there for the last 15 days or so. Hope to get this resolved….hope is the only way out now!!!

    Recent Update: 19-july-2008:

A person from BSNL came and gave me a WLL Phone!!! He asked nothing, not even a sign for a proof of delivery…just like that he handed over and tested & went away. I didn’t apply for WLL anyway. I am still waiting for my BROADBAND connection. My whole intention in applying for BSNL is for broadband !!!

My story with BSNL Broadband!

Jan’08 I shifted to my new flat in Keelkattalai and I was looking for some broadband connection. I was using TATA Indicom for more than a year and was more comfortable with speed and reliability (except rare occasions when it went down for a week). Unfortunately TATA was not there in that area. So I was looking for some other provider. Heard BSNL is good, I also thought since this is going to be a permanent location (thou’ life is not permanent..he he), I would rather get a landline along with BSNL broadband.

I got a connction immediately and it is wonderfully well…..all lived happily. Nice ending, isn’t it? but unfortunately my story doesn’t end there!

    Not sure why BSNL Broadband is sooo hard to get!!! or I am from an Island !!!!! I did a google and yahoo india map, it shows Keelkattalai area is part of INDIA !!

    I applied for a BSNL telephone and a broadband connection in the month of Feb’08 and till date I have no clue on its status. I tried several ways to get the status as well as the connection. But all my efforts so far had no results, not even the status I couldn’t get.

    Is this something comes under “RTI”? I am trying to get the information on my application and payment. Hope you will help me in this regard.

    · I did an online registeration somewhere in the month of Dec’07 or Jan’08 in Chennai BSNL website

    · Subsequenty a person from BSNL Shoppe came and collected the forms and payment in Feb’08

    · Then nothing happened till mid of march’08

    · The numbers I contacted to get the staus
    (for posting sake, I am hiding the numbers, they may be personal numbers, don’t want to make it public)
    o Bsnl shoppe – 94442xxxxx

    o Bsnl shoppe – 94448xxxxx (said they only collect forms and I have to only contact or go in person to the exchange)

    o Ilayaraja (the person collected the payment) – 98841xxxxx (he told he had left the company)

    o Raman (Ilayaraja asked me to call this number) – 94442xxxxx

    · Keelkattalai – exchange – 22470123 – they asked me to call Keelkattalai JE

    · Keelkattalai BSNL JE – 2247 1111 – He said Monday he would take this, not sure which Monday, 1 month gone

    · I have spent more money in calling each one of them and following up and this has put me into lot of stress

    I am not sure even after collecting the payment, why BSNL doesn’t bother about the customer and let them knowing the status.

    I hope I will get a solution as early as possible. Thank you.

      I am facing the similar issue with Kilkattalai exchange.

      I am in Madipakkam. I have applied for my broadband in June but no reply till September end and suddenly they installed WLL in my home. The sad part is one of my apartment member (ground floor) has BSNL landline with broadband. Exchange AE says that it is not possible to give broadband in my apartment. I don’t know how it is not possible.

      Let me know what happened to your BSNL story, did you get your broadband or just disconnected your WLL? I am planning to go for Consumer Court. (Similarly I sent many emails to the above said ids but no response at all)

      I availed bsnl broadband connection from Chennai Madipakkam about six months back. It took three months for me to get my land line through after getting the broad band connection. Moreover every month the service will go at least for one week, there wont be any response from the exchange immediately every thing will happen at their will and pleasure as if they are providing a free service. Of late in February 2013 I exercised three breakdowns and the latest is on 27-02-2013 which complaint id is:18117212092 dtd.27-02-2013 , no action till date. The previous complaint was on 12-02-2013 which ID was:18020652482. It is very difficult to meet any authority to explain my complaint personally. If any customer oriented bsnl authority sees this mail request to do something to give trouble free service to me since I am paying for the dead service, this is only a desire since I cannot expect service from any government department.
