Beautiful Saturday @ Blue Lagoon – ECR

20-Oct-07, Saturday – one of the best day, away from the work pressure….me, my team mates (few ex. :) too) we all went to one my favorite place in ECR – Blue Lagoon Resort.

We used to book and play in the normal cricket ground, but we have never been inside the resort. This was the first time we went in.

The day started beautifully, in fact we had some doubt whether we can make it due to some drizzle and threat of a rain. But by the time we reached there, it was sunny and a OK weather to play cricket.

List if participants

1. Kishore, our captain
2. Srinivasan, Coach cum manager
3. Mahesh, right arm off-spin fast
4. Uday, uthappa?
5. Mohan, right arm wide
6. Rajaprabhu, all-in-all alagu
7. Murugesh, B.Lee Ji
8. Arul (pro series)
9. Arjun, sixer arjun
10. Angu, singles Angu
11. Srini, Jr. sreesanth minus actions
12. Vasanth, open to end bat, don’t ask score
13. Suresh, inzamam..still playing?
14. Geetha, our only spectator…but we have paid her he he
15. and ME

We played 3 matches, 2 before lunch and 1 after lunch.

By lunch, the score was 1-1. But after lunch our team was affected by the menu, so we lost the series by 1:2.

Speaking after the series, Kishore said, his team would bounce back in the coming Aus series, his team lacks only in bowling, fielding and betting which can happen to any team!

After receiving the trophy, Srini said, there was a discussion about me…going to resign and join the rebel team, but our boys held the stomach!!! and hit sixes, which made the difference at end of day.

Man of the match in the final, Mohan said, he always hit sixes and esply after lunch when the ball is swinging…
In fact one of the sixes, the ball in yet to come, Air Force and Coast guard has been alerted !

Man of the series Mahesh said. “I used to get man of the series for bowling fast, but this is the first time I am getting it for batting, I had few problems with kishore in RHM and I took the revenge on the field !”.

In front of the huge crowd :)…suresh wanted to prove himself, but uthappa spoiled it by throwing to the striker end and arjun by mistake dragged the ball on to the stumps…..a close call, but what to do when TV replays shows he was short !!!

Another important moment came when Rajaprabhu went in and srini was bowling, the first ball…full toss went for a straight six. But for some reason Rajaprabhu went to srini and said thanks. Investigations are still on, decision will be announced in next ICC meet at London. But the crowd was saying “problems within the family…what to do”.

2 best catches were awarded, Arjun and Angu – both as wkt keepers. but TV reply shows their eys were closed while catching…even when the ball was in their hand, they were searching the ball near them….confusing?!, another ball?

Most importantly, Lunch was too good…

Then… by evening, we all went to beach and enjoyed.

Few photos follow…this post.

Another B’Day…..(5*5 )+(2*2)…he he

For some reason, I have never given much importance to B’Days…neither to my own or to my friends, even to the closest. In fact I can only say my B’Day date, I never even remember B’Days of others and often miss to wish them too…. but thats the way i am and i don’t want to change…. :)

This year, lot of changes in the way the day used to be….my team mates arranged for a cake cutting at office and presented a nice shirt (one more blue shirt..:) ), then went to Suresh’s house and another cake cutting….I am not a cine actor or politician though !!! he he.

Then a great dinner by Geetha Suresh…thanks to her, i should say, one of the best dinner I ever had….wonderful…I could able to see their love and affection…may be add to more taste :)

next – movie – that’s the big mistake i did – went to Saththam Podathae!!! one of the worst movie i saw in my life time….something happen to Vasanth….I can’t believe “Rytham” – Vasanth !!! such a bad quality product…sorry to say, to release such a film, the whole industry should be ashamed off!!!

so that’s it….apart from these, lot of calls, SMSs….thanks to all.

Painful times!

Fire

Painful time – remembering the kids

The Hindu, July 18, 2004: KUMBAKONAM, JULY 17. The toll in Friday’s fire accident at a school in Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu has gone up to 90.

2 years gone, still the incident is in fresh in memory. With the 2nd year anniversary tomorrow, I am really worried about the action points that has been implemented and the follow ups. Is our schools really safe for kids? Whether the government is serious on providing safe place for the kids? I don’t think so; especially the schools run by these privates who are wanting to make money.

At this point, it is upto the parents to decide whether the school is really safe and having good environment etc. PLEASE DO SPEND TIME TO VISIT THE SCHOOLS AND CHECK, AFTER ALL ITS YOUR FUTURE.

I want to place President Abdul Kalam poem in memory of children killed in TN blaze .

Oh dear little ones! Oh dear little ones!
For you, parents had glorious dream!
And You were all immersed in your own dreams
Yet, Agni engulfed you and all those dreams
Taking you to Almighty’s divine presence
Usually, departed old parents are buried by sons
Whereas, Kumbakanam, saw a sad scene!
Crying parents burying burying their little ones!!
Oh Almighty! show your grace on those little ones
And keep them in Thy holiest presence!!
Oh Almighty! bless those parents wailing in grief
To have the strength to bear this great loss
May Thy compassion and grace pervade all souls
And bring down the pain and wipe away the tears
Oh Almighty! show your grace on those little ones”

I want to convey sincere condolences to all the family members who unfortunately lost their dear ones. Secondly, we pray to the God to rest all the departed souls in peace and also pray to the Great God to give all the family members the necessary courage to tide over the saddest occasion.
